Cross country senior standout Erin Archard has helped lead the women's team to victory at the NCAA Regional and a number two national ranking. With last week's win, the team will head to Wilmington College to compete in the NCAA Championship. With a good week of training, Middlebury hopes to run past the top-ranked SUNY Geneseo team and win its fourth National Championship in the past six years.

The Vienna, Maine native has been a reliable runner all year, tallying six top ten overall finishes in her seven races including an individual title at the State meet on September 30th.

She is no stranger to competition, nor are the two students who think they know Archard best.

Andrea Giddings '07 has been running side-by-side with Archard for four years. The two seem to flip-flop each race as to who takes the individual crown. But can Giddings edge out the tallest competitor in the history of the Inside the Locker Room competition, Evan Thompson '07?

The senior basketball star is no stranger toplaying above the rim. He also lives in Fletcher just down the hall from Archard, so will he be able to elevate himself above Giddings and bank a victory for the roommates?

Question difficulty increased considerably this week and the results reflected this change. In a low scoring affair, Giddings, who is bidding for a National Championship, edged out Thompson by a narrow .75 margin and helped the teammates clinch the fall season of the Inside the Locker Room competition.

While this battle may have lacked accuracy in teammate and roommate responses, the competitors made up for it with a dose of creativity. From E-Lobstah to toothpaste stolen from hotels, Giddings offered some interesting insight into Archard's life.

Thompson, the six-foot, six-inch basketball forward, incorrectly guessed that Archy's favorite board game was the "That's So Raven Girl Talk Game." Naturally, her favorite board game is Clue. Furthermore, the Nike-wearing runner will be doing much more running than talking this weekend as she and her teammates compete at the NCAA Championships.

In the first multi-gendered Inside the Locker Room competition, the woman came out on top. Will the roommates and men be able keep pace in the next edition or will the teammates stay ahead in the season series?
