Sunday evening, President Ronald D. Liebowitz announced the upcoming implementation of new campus security measures in an e-mail to the College community. Under the new protocol, residential buildings on campus will be locked 24 hours a day, though all dormitories will be accessible with College-issued proximate access cards.
The first annual Jason Fleishman Award was presented to co-recipients Katherine Stamper '04.5 and Devin Greene '04.5 at the Feb Ceremony in Mead Chapel earlier this month. At Monday afternoon's faculty meeting, a resolution was easily passed that if approved by the administration will require employers wishing to recruit on campus to sign the College's nondiscrimination agreement. The resolution calls for the elimination of the possibility to hold an open meeting providing information on the organization's recruitment practices and explaining the rationale behind a specific discriminatory policies.

Middlebury College lost a valuable member of the community in Alan Williams after he passed away last week. Williams is survived by his only son, Daniel. A celebration of his life was held Kirk Alumni Center last Sunday. Williams started working at the College in 1992, first in dining supervising in Proctor, then in catering and in the heating plant.
