The offices of the editorial board of The Middlebury Campus are located in the basement of Hepburn Hall. These are shabby rooms, prone to leaks in wet weather. The pipes rattle and clatter in the winter. After a night spent putting together the newspaper, the office is invariably a mess, strewn with half-eaten dinners, discarded design mock-ups and elusive red pens.

Students are thrilled that the campus is on the cusp of becoming completely wireless. What a relief that we can bring our laptops wherever we want and still be able to type up school work and, of course, occasionally check our Facebook, e-mail and most recently, the addictive Web site MiddleburyConfessional.

The esteemed Mr. Garlick derides the validity of the now-popular carbon credits as "economically problematic and morally suspect.

Review by Maddie Oatman

In "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," Jonathan Safran Foer creates a remarkably convincing portrayal of nine-year-old Oskar Schell, a slightly annoying, lovable and insatiably curious boy dealing with life after losing his father to the collapse of the Twin Towers on Sep.

It's the end of the year, and you know what that means. Well, among other things, it means that everybody you know is scrambling for all they're worth to finish the projects they've been working on all semester, all year, or - gulp - all of college. The number of plays, art shows, concerts and mind-blowing music festivals that went up last weekend alone probably rivals the number that have gone up all semester.

Placing eighth in the nation, the women achieved the highest level of success the team has seen since its formation in 2000.

The final weekend of Middlebury's baseball season proceeded much the same as its other weeks. High-scoring games, more losses than wins - many of them heartbreakers - but nonetheless plenty of bright points, including a well-played win against a NESCAC opponent to conclude the spring schedule.

Middlebury has always prided itself on being somewhat different. Our international emphasis, environmental awareness and unique locale are pushed by the administration as reasons to come to Middlebury instead of the many other equivalent schools. Personally it was the Feb program, but a professional football club would have sealed my decision.
